Christmas Gift Guide feat. UncommonGoods

Finding the perfect gift for a loved one is such a satisfying feeling! During the Christmas season, I love browsing, choosing, and wrapping gifts for my family and friends. So I have put together a gift guide post, featuring three different sections: Stocking Stuffers, Gifts for Friends, and Gifts for Parents.


I always find myself looking for unique ideas of affordable stocking stuffers. UncommonGoods has loads of cute options, including this Couch Guestbook and Personalized Birthstone Mineral Soaps.

 I love shopping for my friends because I basically look for things I would love. During this time of year, a lot of these shops will have their own gift guides on their websites, like this sentimental and quirky one or this classy one!

Shopping for my mom is so easy, in fact too easy, because I end up buying her way too many things. When it comes to my dad, finding him something meaningful that he will actually use or enjoy is tough. Over the last couple of years, since my siblings and I went in together to get him an iPod touch for his car so he can listen to audiobooks while driving, I have been getting him 2-3 audiobooks each Christmas. DIY Crafts: Notebook & Mason Jars

Hello there!  So lately I have become addicted to Pinterest (again). As I am preparing to go back to school, I have been feeling really inspired to try out some DIY projects for my dorm! 1) This first DIY is to spruce up a regular old spiral notebook and make it awesome.  I got the idea from a pin of Melisa from  Pie 'N' The Sky 's triangle love notebook. When I saw it, I immediately thought, I can do that - I should give it a whirl! All you need is... - a notebook (mine had a plain black cover and was $1 from Target) - glue (I used Rubber Cement but a glue stick would work perfectly fine as well) - scissors - photos / magazine clippings / cardboard ** - Mod Podge and a brush  ** I used snippings from National Geographic, Vogue, and Seventeen, as well as construction paper to write lyrics from my fav song. I also took my 'Mylo Xyloto' Coldplay album and cut a pattern from the insert in the CD with photos of them playing at concerts.  N

Recipe | Watermelon Rice Krispies

June is here which means SUMMER HAS FINALLY ARRIVED! I can't wait to make fun summer inspired recipes for the next two months before I leave for England. I will share as much as I can with you and hopefully inspire you to try these out as well. My little sister and I saw Ingrid from MissGlamorazzi do these awesome watermelon inspired Rice Krispie treats in one of her most recent videos and we immediately knew we had to make them! She made a very healthy version but we knew our brothers and our dad would want to eat these so we went old school and used the traditional marshmallows and butter routine :) Ingrid always posts really yummy and exciting recipes that I definitely want to try. Flower Love

My little sister Mary, who is almost 13, makes headbands, bows, and clips for her hair out of cut material from old shirts and cheap fake flowers from the store... and they are amazing !! She is already a beauty/fashion guru in the making. I feel so inspired by her to be more creative with styling my hair, while saving a bit of money :) So here are some photos of her clips and headbands: Flower Love was inspired by a photo we saw on Pinterest*. She immediately wanted to recreate the look with a fishtail braid when we saw it because she just bought some daisies that looked quite similar. Here's me casually sitting in some grass modeling her work... (Secret: I was actually wearing boxer shorts underneath this dress and a car filled with attractive guys  drove by...
